Security operatives arrest suspected killers of farmers in Akure

Security operatives have arrested suspects linked to the killing of three farmers in Ala Igbatoro, Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.

WESTERN POST had yesterday reported that the victims were attacked as tension enveloped the agrarian community.

According to a post on X (formerly Twitter) by Yomi Oyekan, an aide to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, a joint team of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Amotekun Corps apprehended the suspects following credible intelligence.

Oyekan stated that the suspects are now in custody and undergoing interrogation to uncover the motive behind the gruesome attack.

He added that security patrols have been intensified across the area to prevent any further breach of peace and to reassure residents of their safety.

Meanwhile, the state government has urged members of the public to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies as investigations continue.
