Senator Adeola is our member, says Ogun West APC

All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun West Senatorial District on Thursday declared that it would not allowed itself to be blackmailed by any aspirant or group into excluding others in the race for the district’s 2023 Senatorial ticket.
The party also affirmed that an aspirant, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, having duly transferred his APC membership to Ilaro Ward 1 in Yewa South Local Government has become a bonafide member of the party in Ogun West and entitled to all rights and privileges of a member, including contesting for any position he so desires as guaranteed by the constitution of the party and that of Nigeria.
Ogun West Extended Executive of the APC was reacting to a news item and an unsigned communique by a group, which called itself “Committee of Concerned Ogun West Patriots” under the umbrella of “Ogun West Elders, Leaders and Stakeholders” to the effect that Senator Adeola was not known the axis.
But the APC in a statement on Thursday said the Committee of Concerned Ogun West Patriots is a gathering of supporters of former governor Ibikunle Amosun and the failed candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2019 governorship election, Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka {GNI).
The statement was signed by Alhaji Azeez Mohammed (APC Ogun West Senatorial Chairman), Elder Lai Oguntade (Senatorial Secretary), Hon. J. J. Akeran (Chairman, APC Ado-Odo/Ota LGA), Hon. Segun Olalotan (Chairman, APC, Imeko Afon LGA), Hon. Taiwo Wepetoji (Chairman, APC, Ipokia LGA), Chief Kunle Adeosun (Chairman, APC Yewa North LGA) and Alhaji Adenle (Chairman, APC, Yewa South).
They also noted that Senator Iyabo Anisulowo who spoke for the Committee, is an inactive member of the APC in Ogun West and in Ogun State.
The signatories noted that Senator Anisulowo had refused to participate in the activities of APC since 2019, including leadership meetings of the party held severally in her backyard at Ilaro.
“She is a prominent leader of those who worked against the interest of the APC in the 2019 general elections,” they said.
According to them, Anisulowo’s membership, commitment and loyalty to the APC is doubtful while since her purported return to the party sometimes in 2021, she has never attended the meeting of APC in her ward but rather attempted to set up a parallel illegal APC structure, which did not fly.
They, therefore, called on those parading themselves as ‘patriotic’ Yewa -Awori indigenes and “conscience of our people,” to desist from placing their selfish pursuit and personal interest above the larger community interest as they have been doing over the years.
