Senator Barau Jibrin donates N2m to Flying Eagles

Deputy President of the Senate, Dr. Barau Jibrin, has donated two million naira to Nigeria’s U-20 Men’s national team, the Flying Eagles.
The team’s Media Officer, Babs Sharif Abdallah, confirmed the donation by Dr. Barau Jibrin.
On Thursday, the Flying Eagles defeated Côte d’Ivoire and qualified for the semifinals of the ongoing U-20 AFCON qualifying tournament in Lomé, Togo.
Nigeria finished second in Group B with three points, scoring more goals than their two other rivals. Burkina Faso, also with three points, was eliminated after scoring the fewest goals in the group.
According to Abdallah, “As part of efforts to boost the morale of the team, Deputy Senate President Barau I. Jibrin has donated the sum of N2 million to Nigeria’s U-20 Men’s national team, the Flying Eagles.”
The finalists of the 2024 WAFU B U-20 football tournament will represent the region at the 2025 U-20 African Cup of Nations scheduled for Egypt. The CAF U-20 AFCON will also serve as the qualifying tournament for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup, with all semifinalists securing their World Cup tickets.
