Senator Enoh commissions NBC’s packaging waste collection hub in Lagos

The Minister of State for Industry, Senator John Enoh recently joined the management of Coca-Cola Hellenic Global for the commissioning of the Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) packaging waste collection hub in Lagos State.

The Minister on X said, “The establishment of this hub by The Coca-Cola System—comprising Coca-Cola Nigeria and its bottling partner, the NBC—is a milestone in our national industrial journey. It represents more than just an investment; it is a bold statement about the future of the industry. It is what happens when businesses look beyond profit and embrace responsibility—responsibility for the environment, for job creation, and for the ecosystem that sustains their success.

“While we celebrate this remarkable achievement, I commend The Coca-Cola System for its commitment to recycling and sustainability.

“The world is changing. The era of reckless extraction and waste is over. The new industrial economy is circular, regenerative, and smart.

“Companies that fail to embed sustainability into their operations will not just struggle; they will become obsolete. This initiative is powerful because it transforms waste into opportunity. It ensures that plastic is no longer discarded—it is repurposed, reimagined, and reintegrated into a thriving value chain.”

Senator Enoh said he is excited about the tangible impact this hub will have—supporting over 1,000 waste collectors, 70+ green entrepreneurs, and countless others within the recycling ecosystem. Beyond the numbers, this project sets a new benchmark for industrial participation in environmental sustainability.

“To those in the manufacturing sector who have yet to embrace circularity and sustainability, let me say this: You are either leading the future, or you are being left behind,” the Minister tweets.
