Sesko equaliser secures draw for Manchester United against West Ham

Benjamin Sesko scored in the sixth minute of stoppage time to earn a point for Manchester United, whose winning run under Michael Carrick ended with a 1-1 draw at West Ham United.

United were aiming for a fifth consecutive Premier League victory under their interim manager, which would have lifted them to third and reduced the gap to second-placed Manchester City to just three points.

However, Tomas Soucek fired struggling West Ham ahead, and the hosts looked set to claim a vital three points in their fight against relegation until Sesko struck late.

The dropped points mark the first under Carrick’s latest spell in charge, but it is by no means a disaster for United, who remain on course for a return to the Champions League following their recent upturn in form.
