Seyi Tinubu installed as Òkanlòmọ of Yorubaland

The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly and Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, Rt Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has congratulated Barrister Seyi Tinubu on his installation as the Òkanlòmọ of Yorubaland.
Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was conferred with the traditional title on Sunday, December 21, 2025, by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, during a ceremony held at the Alaafin’s Palace in Oyo Town.
Ogundoyin described the honour as a recognition of Tinubu’s growing influence, youth engagement, and philanthropic contributions across Yorubaland. He said the title reflects leadership potential and a call to service to the Yoruba people.
According to the Speaker, the conferment underscores values of excellence, community service, and legacy, which he said are central to Yoruba culture.
He also commended the Alaafin of Oyo for sustaining Yoruba traditions and strengthening cultural institutions through the recognition of individuals deemed worthy of such honours.
Ogundoyin urged Seyi Tinubu to use the traditional title to promote unity, cultural pride, youth development, and sustainable progress across Yorubaland.
The installation ceremony was attended by traditional rulers, political leaders, dignitaries, and guests from different parts of Nigeria and the diaspora.
