Shettima assures women of Tinubu’s commitment to empowerment policies

Vice-President Kashim Shettima has reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to implementing policies and programmes aimed at empowering women across Nigeria.
Shettima gave the assurance on Monday when he received a delegation of Nigerian Women for Tinubu/Shettima 2027, an All Progressives Congress (APC) support group campaigning for the re-election of the president and his deputy, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He described women as central to national development, saying their welfare was critical to the growth and stability of society.
“Women are the backbone of every society, and the growth and stability of every society. A nation is judged by the way they treat their women,” the vice-president said.
He also assured the group of the administration’s support for its activities and programmes.
“I want to convey to you the goodwill and the assurance as well as maximum support of Mr President to enable you carry out your activities,” he added.
Earlier, the group’s National Coordinator and Convener, Elsie Morgan Mangai, pledged to mobilise women and other Nigerians to vote for the APC presidential ticket in the 2027 election.
Mangai, who led the delegation alongside the group’s Board of Trustees Chairman, Bisola Sodipo Edwin Clark, said the organisation was established following its assessment of the relationship between Tinubu and Shettima and the administration’s economic reforms.
