Shettima leads FG delegation to Katsina, condoles Governor Radda over mother’s demise

Vice President Kashim Shettima on Tuesday led a Federal Government delegation to Katsina State to condole with Governor Dikko Umaru Radda over the passing of his mother, Hajiya Sarafa’u Umaru, who died on Saturday at the age of 93.

Representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Shettima described the late Hajiya Sarafa’u as a woman who lived a life worthy of emulation. Speaking during the visit, he noted that while death is inevitable, her passing at such an advanced age was a moment to celebrate a life well-lived.

“Your Excellency, we are here at the behest of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to commiserate with you, the government, and the good people of Katsina State over the sad demise of the matriarch of the Radda family,” Shettima said.

“But the death of a mother is still a very sad loss. May Allah grant her soul eternal rest and reward her with Aljannah Firdaus. May He also grant the family and the people of Katsina State the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” he added.

Shettima was accompanied by Hon. Usman Zannah (Member, Kaga/Gubio/Magumeri Federal Constituency, Borno State), Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Sen. Abubakar Kyari, Minister of Transportation Sen. Sa’idu Ahmed Alkali, and Deputy Chief of Staff to the President (Office of the Vice President) Sen. Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia.

In response, Katsina State Deputy Governor Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe expressed gratitude to the Vice President and his delegation for their visit and prayers.

“Your Excellency, we can’t thank you enough. You have always identified with the good people and government of Katsina State. On behalf of the family of the governor, the government, and the people of Katsina, we sincerely appreciate your presence and prayers,” Jobe stated.

The Vice President was received at the Muhammadu Buhari House in Katsina by prominent political figures, including former Governor Barr. Ibrahim Shehu Shema, former Deputy Governor Alhaji Mannir Yakubu, and APC State Chairman Lawal Daura.
