Shettima tasks Oyebanji on youth empowerment, better public service in second term

Vice-President Kashim Shettima has urged Ekiti State Governor Abiodun Oyebanji to improve public service delivery, expand opportunities for young people and ensure that his second term benefits residents across the state.
Shettima said Oyebanji must justify the confidence reposed in him by voters by prioritising the needs of citizens, particularly those whose concerns are often overlooked.
The Vice-President spoke on Friday while representing President Bola Tinubu at the inauguration of Oyebanji for a second term in office in Ado-Ekiti.

He urged the governor to sustain the qualities that secured his re-election while demonstrating greater commitment to the welfare of the people over the next four years.
“Your Excellency, as the ceremonies end and the responsibilities of office reclaim the hours, remember the distinction the people have conferred upon you.
“They have examined your first term and entrusted you with their next four years. Honour that judgement by opening more doors for the young, raising the quality of public service and keeping faith with those whose voices are seldom heard at occasions such as this,” Shettima said.
He described Oyebanji’s renewed mandate as evidence of democratic accountability and public trust earned through governance.
Shettima also attributed the support enjoyed by Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to Nigerians’ understanding of the economic reforms introduced by the administration.
