Shooting Stars, Katsina Utd start new season with home losses

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan began their campaign in the 2025/26 season of the NPFL on a disappointing note, after losing at home 0-1 to Bayelsa United.
A 29th-minute header by Kehinde Lawal was all that gave the visitors all points at the Lekan Salami Stadium.
This is the first time in four seasons that the Oluyole Warriors will be losing their first match of the season, both on home soil and on the road.
Another away victory was also recorded in Katsina, where returnee Warri Wolves defeated Katsina United 1-0.
In other matches, Rangers International were held to a goalless draw at home by newcomers Kun Khalifa of Owerri, while Enyimba FC also picked up a point on the road, having held newly promoted Barau FC to a 0-0 draw in Kano.
Bendel Insurance suffered a 0-2 loss to El-Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri, Ikorodu City held Kwara United to a nil-all draw in Ilorin, while Wikki Tourists pipped Plateau United 1-0 in Bauchi, just as Abia Warriors beat Kano Pillars 1-0 in Umuahia.
