Sikiru Adepoju takes swipe at Davido

Nigerian-born singer and instrumentalist Sikiru Adepoju has criticized Davido.
Sikiru, the first Nigerian to win a Grammy, shared his thoughts about the music star after a videoblogger, Korty, alleged that Davido and his team were preventing her from releasing an interview she conducted with him, his manager, and crew.
“I can’t believe Nigerians still think Davido is an innocent man and an angel in disguise. They feel he has a good heart and has never done anything wrong, so he doesn’t deserve any hate or criticism.
“Davido has twice scammed Nigerians, showing a disregard for his brand in favor of personal gain. Shoutout to individuals who have had their careers or ambitions silenced because of Davido’s greed and questionable actions. Davido has used his influencer network to campaign against his colleagues’ projects. He’s the most cunning and shady person in the Nigerian entertainment industry,” Sikiru wrote.
Taking another jab at Davido’s manager, Asa Asika, Sikiru continued, “Should we start discussing the foolish actions of people around Davido? It’s laughable if Asa Asika thinks his statements justify Davido. When people around you act disrespectfully, two things come to mind:
- Either they lack respect for you and your craft, or
- You enable this behavior; it’s your circle, where you chat, eat, and draw boundaries, so everything they say is premeditated or previously discussed. You don’t overly caution them, which means it sits well with you.”
“Asa Asika has done a poor job managing Davido. I have love for The Plug and all its executives, but let’s call a spade a spade… they are too exposed in that video with Wasiu, which is why they won’t release it.”
