Singer Ayo Maff enmeshed in record label dispute
By Tosin Brown –
Rising singer Ayo Maff is currently involved in a dispute with record label TunesBid Records over an alleged violation of a signed recording agreement.
In a statement released via its official Instagram page, the label accused the artist and his management of breaching the terms of a contract signed in December 2023.
TunesBid claimed it financed Maff’s singles — Street Anthem, Dealer, and 7 Days — and also secured a distribution deal for him with Empire Distribution.
The label warned show promoters and entertainment companies to cease all dealings with Ayo Maff, stating that the singer remains under contract and any further engagement could attract legal consequences.
“TunesBid Limited, following a series of discussions, entered into an Exclusive Recording Agreement with Ayo Maff on December 3, 2023,” the statement read. “The artist’s legal team, representing OceansTreasure Limited, was fully involved in the process.”
The label added that the agreement included a release schedule for three singles within the first seven months, all of which were funded by TunesBid.
TunesBid further alleged that Ayo Maff and his management had been “conniving to defraud” the label by entering into another agreement in breach of the existing contract.
