Soun announces movement restriction for Ogbomoso women as Oro Festival begins

The Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Olaoye, has announced that the 2025 Oro Festival will begin on Friday, June 13, and will run through Friday, June 20.
This was contained in a statement by the Palace Secretary, Mr. Toyin Ajamu, on Wednesday.
The statement cautioned that during the festival period, women are prohibited from moving about the streets within Ogbomoso township between the hours of 12 midnight and 4 a.m.
It further warned that anyone found violating the restriction would be handed over to law enforcement agencies for necessary action.
Residents were urged to cooperate fully to ensure the peaceful observance of the traditional event.
