The Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Oladunni Olaoye, has commended the efforts of the Oyo State Anti-Land Grabbing Agency following a courtesy and sensitization visit to his palace on Tuesday.
The monarch received the delegation led by Hon. Justice O.I. Aiki (rtd), Chairperson of the agency, describing the visit as “enlightening, timely, and impactful.”
In a statement issued after the meeting, Oba Olaoye highlighted the importance of the agency’s mission, which aims to educate communities on land ownership, legal processes, and how to guard against the risks associated with ignorance in land matters.
“Their visit went beyond official protocol,” he said. “It brought critical knowledge to the fore and empowered us to better protect our communities.”
Oba Olaoye noted that the session included engaging dialogue with traditional rulers, allowing for questions and in-depth responses. He praised the interaction for its clarity and the sense of satisfaction it brought to the traditional leaders present.
“As I often say, knowledge is power, and power must be used to preserve peace and legacy,” the monarch emphasized. “Let’s be proactive, stay informed, and protect our heritage.”
He expressed his gratitude to Justice Aiki and her team for their commitment to promoting land justice and fostering communal harmony in Oyo State.
