The paramount ruler of Ogbomoso, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III, on Friday met with His Royal Highness, Oba Samuel Olutoye Bamigboye, the Olopete of Opete, and His Royal Highness, Deacon Samson Moronfoye Oyebode, the Olotamokun of Otamokun, to discuss collaborative efforts for regional development.
Oba Olaoye shared details of the meeting via his official social media handle over the weekend, describing the warm reception he received as heartwarming and inspiring. He emphasized that meaningful development is not the responsibility of one individual or leader alone but requires collective effort.

During the discussions, the Soun of Ogbomoso outlined his long-term vision for the growth of Ogbomosoland, highlighting his 25-year developmental plan. His goal, he said, is to transform Ogbomoso into a center of economic prosperity, cultural excellence, and infrastructural progress.
The monarch also appealed for the support and cooperation of the people, stressing that unity and shared responsibility are essential in realizing the vision for a prosperous Ogbomosoland.

In his statement, he said, “At the Opete Palace, I had the opportunity to share my 25-year developmental plan for Ogbomosoland—a vision aimed at transforming our land into a hub of economic prosperity, cultural excellence, and infrastructural growth. However, I have always emphasized that meaningful progress is a collective effort.”

He urged the people of Opete and Otamokun to unite in bringing this vision to life, adding that their shared heritage and common aspirations should drive them towards sustainable development.

Following his visit to Opete, Oba Olaoye proceeded to Otamokun, where he was warmly welcomed by the Olotamokun and his people. Their hospitality, he noted, further reinforced his belief in the power of unity to drive progress.

He concluded by expressing gratitude to the people of Opete and Otamokun for their unwavering support, stating, “Ogbomosoland is destined for greatness, and through unity, hard work, and determination, we will make history.”
