Sports, music can’t give billionaire status, says Anthony Joshua

By Olaolu Joseph

Nigerian-born British boxer and two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has shared insights on achieving billionaire status, stating that excelling in sports or entertainment alone is not sufficient.

Anthony Joshua, whose net worth is estimated at approximately $83 million (£64 million) as of 2024 according to Forbes, took to Snapchat to share his thoughts.

He wrote:
“For anyone to reach billionaire status, it will not be through sports, music, or entertainment. Don’t get lost in the hype. Focus on sustainability, books, and business ethics.”

Globally, only a select few entertainers and athletes have reached billionaire status, often due to strategic ventures beyond their primary fields. Icons such as Jay-Z, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, and LeBron James have achieved this milestone largely through endorsements, product lines, and business investments, as reported by Forbes.

While the sports and entertainment industries offer immense earning potential, history underscores the importance of diversifying income streams and making strategic investments for long-term wealth.
