St. Finbarr’s College Old Boys Association moves ailing Henry Nwosu to LASUTH

St. Finbarr’s College Old Boys Association has transferred the ailing former Super Eagles player, Henry Nwosu to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), for treatment with the support of the Lagos State government.

Nwosu, the youngest member of Nigeria’s 1980 AFCON winning Green Eagles, is down with stroke and recently appealed to the public to come to his aid over his health condition.

The 59-year-old was reportedly receiving treatment at the Asaba Specialist Hospital in Delta State. Reports said his siblings had been taking care of his medical bills as he continues to battle to stay alive, with reports claiming he lost all his fortune to his treatment.

The leadership of the St Finbarr’s Old Boys’ Association said they were able to bring Nwosu to Lagos with the support of the Lagos State government.

The association in a statement said: St. Finbarr’s College Old Boys Association is proud to have instigated and executed the transfer of our legendary old boy Henry Nwosu (MON) from a hospital in Asaba to LASUTH in Lagos. We are also eternally grateful to Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu the Lagos State Governor who acceded to our request to take over the cost of Henry’s care on Monday 14th November just 3 hours after the request was made in the early hours of the same day.

We are equally grateful to the forum of Distinguished Old Boys who collectively strategized and guided the actions that produced this outcome. They also provided the funds to evacuate Henry from Asaba to Lagos by air.
