Sule inspects 6000 tonnes Diamond Energy Lithium plant in Nasarawa ahead of official opening

Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, on Wednesday, conducted an on-site assessment visit to the Diamond New Energy Lithium Processing Plant located in the Endo community of Nasarawa Local Government Area.

The purpose of the visit was to inspect ongoing installations and evaluate the operational readiness of the facility ahead of its official commissioning. The state-of-the-art plant, currently undergoing test runs, is designed to process up to 6,000 metric tons of lithium daily, making it one of the largest in the country.

Governor Sule expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded and reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to fostering industrial development, job creation, and sustainable economic growth across the state.

He emphasised that the lithium facility marks a significant milestone in Nasarawa’s ambition to become a strategic hub for solid minerals development in Nigeria, underlining the importance of responsible investment in the sector.

“This facility embodies the industrial future we envision for Nasarawa State—one where our abundant natural resources are fully harnessed for the socio-economic benefit of our people,” the Governor stated.

In response to the development, the North Central Media Forum (NCMF) commended Governor Sule’s visit, describing it as a clear demonstration of purposeful leadership and dedication to economic transformation.

The Forum encouraged continued support from stakeholders for initiatives that deliver enduring benefits to the region, and called for sustained efforts to attract credible local and foreign investments.

The lithium plant is expected to be officially commissioned in the coming weeks and is projected to contribute significantly to Nasarawa State’s internally generated revenue, while enhancing its strategic relevance in Nigeria’s solid minerals and clean energy value chain.
