By Olaolu Joseph –
A tough opener awaits Nigeria’s home-based team, the Super Eagles B, as they begin their campaign in the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) against defending champions, Senegal.
The Group D opening match will be held on Tuesday, August 7, at the Amman Stadium in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
The Eagles, who are making a return to the tournament after failing to qualify for the last two editions, are placed in a challenging group that also includes Sudan and Congo.
The NPFL stars need to start strong with a positive result against the Senegalese to boost their chances of progressing from the group.
According to the fixtures, Nigeria’s second group game will be against Sudan on August 12 at the same venue.
The final group match will see the Super Eagles B face Congo on August 19 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
The 2024 African Nations Championship will, for the first time, be co-hosted by three countries: Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
The competition, which features players who play in their respective domestic leagues, is scheduled to take place from August 2 to August 30, 2025.
