Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa, accompanied by national team defender Shehu Abdullahi, visited National Sports Commission (NSC) Chairman Shehu Dikko on Monday in Abuja.
During the visit, Musa voiced his support for Dikko’s leadership and vision for the future of Nigerian sports.
Musa, Nigeria’s all-time appearance leader, recently played for Kano Pillars in their away victory over Bendel Insurance.
He explained that he felt it was important to show his support for the NSC Chairman, acknowledging the positive direction Dikko aims to take Nigerian sports.
“I’m here to support the efforts of our NSC boss, Shehu Dikko, and wish him the very best,” Musa stated.
“I believe Dikko will lead sports in the right direction. On behalf of myself and the entire Super Eagles team, I pledge my loyalty and support to him.”
In response, Dikko expressed appreciation for Musa’s visit, noting the significance of top athletes supporting the NSC’s mission.
“Ahmed Musa’s, and indeed the Super Eagles players’, support is invaluable as we look to transform Nigerian sports,” Dikko said.
“Our goal is to develop a system that values our athletes and provides a clear path for sports to thrive. Having distinguished players like Musa engaged in this process is key to achieving that.”
