Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, recently paid a visit to the Flying Eagles’ training camp, where he was warmly received by the team’s head coach, Aliyu Zubairu, along with his coaching staff.
Chelle’s visit was aimed at assessing the team’s level of preparedness ahead of their campaign in the upcoming U-20 African Championship.
During his visit, Coach Chelle took the time to observe training sessions, interact with the players, and offer words of encouragement. His presence at the camp highlighted the importance of synergy between Nigeria’s senior and junior national teams, fostering a developmental pathway for young players aspiring to break into the Super Eagles setup.
Coach Aliyu Zubairu expressed his deep appreciation for Chelle’s visit, acknowledging the significance of the support and guidance from the Super Eagles’ head coach. Zubairu assured Chelle that he would take his insights into account as the Flying Eagles continue their preparations for the tournament.
It is important to note that Coach Aliyu Zubairu stands out as the only Flying Eagles coach appointed purely on merit. His impressive track record includes guiding El-Kanemi Warriors FC back to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and securing the prestigious President’s Federation Cup. His tactical abilities and commitment to youth development make him a fitting choice to lead Nigeria’s U-20 team.
Chelle’s visit not only boosted the morale of the young players but also reinforced the need for a strong developmental system within Nigerian football.
With the collaboration between the Flying Eagles and the Super Eagles’ coaching teams, the future looks bright for Nigerian football, as young talents continue to be nurtured for the highest level of competition.
