Super Eagles players to fly directly to Rwanda for World Cup qualifier

Players of Nigeria’s Super Eagles will fly directly to Kigali, Rwanda, from their respective bases for a crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier next month, just as they did in November when traveling to Abidjan for a 2025 AFCON qualifying match.

The international break is scheduled from March 17 to 25, and the team must make every day count, a top official revealed.

“They will, at best, get only two or three training sessions under the new coach before the match against Rwanda, so it is important that all invited players report promptly in Kigali,” the official disclosed.

“Thankfully, Kigali is a popular international destination, and as such, there should be no flight hitches for the players.”

Rwanda will host the Super Eagles on March 21, while Nigeria will take on Zimbabwe in Uyo four days later in another World Cup qualifier.
