Super Eagles’ win over Ghana well deserved – Chelle

Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has said his team’s victory over Ghana in the semi-final of the Unity Cup on Wednesday night was well deserved.
The Super Eagles put up a dominant display in the first half to race into a 2-0 lead, before Ghana fought back after the interval to halve the deficit late on.
“We played a great first half; in the second half, we were tired,” said Chelle, who, however, admitted that his side needs to improve.
“We deserved our victory, but we need to improve.”
The Super Eagles’ gaffer noted that his high-intensity style is tough and demanding, making it often “impossible” to sustain for the full duration of the game.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali added to the banter between the two West African rivals after the win in London on Wednesday night.
“Nigerian Jollof better than Ghanaian Jollof,” he posted on X after the match.
On Saturday, the Super Eagles will face the Reggae Boyz of Jamaica in the final of the 2025 Unity Cup, with kick-off scheduled for 5 p.m.
