Supreme Court verdict validates my mandate – Aiyedatiwa

Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has reaffirmed his confidence in the judiciary following the Supreme Court’s dismissal of the appeal challenging his candidacy in the last gubernatorial election.
The apex court on Tuesday struck out the case filed by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Agboola Ajayi, affirming the legitimacy of Aiyedatiwa and his deputy, Dr. Olayide Adelami, as the duly elected candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking on his return to Akure from Abuja, Governor Aiyedatiwa described the ruling as a validation of the judiciary’s commitment to justice and fairness.
“This judgment reaffirms the integrity of our judicial system. The Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal have consistently upheld the principles of democracy, relying on facts and the law. With this decision, it is now clear that our party won the election convincingly,” he said.
On the state’s security situation, the governor assured residents that his administration remains committed to safeguarding lives and property. He noted that the government has been actively supporting security agencies to maintain peace and stability across the state.
“The protection of lives and property is our primary duty. We are working closely with all security outfits, including the police and the Amotekun Corps, to ensure Ondo State remains safe. Investments in intelligence gathering, surveillance, and logistics are ongoing to enhance security operations,” he added.
Aiyedatiwa disclosed that plans are underway to procure modern security equipment and gadgets to further strengthen the capacity of security agencies.
He urged residents to continue supporting government initiatives aimed at ensuring a safer and more prosperous Ondo State.
