Suspected kidnapper apprehended in Ilorin with ATM cards

Tension gripped the Ipata Market area of Ilorin on Thursday morning after residents apprehended a woman suspected to be involved in a kidnap attempt.
The suspect, identified as Khadijah from Ile Lase, Oke-Apomu, was accosted around 10:25 a.m. by community members who reportedly grew suspicious of her movements. According to eyewitnesses, four ATM cards were found in her possession during the confrontation. Her mobile phone was also destroyed by angry youths at the scene.

The incident quickly drew a large crowd, with residents demanding explanations and calling for her immediate handover to the authorities. Security operatives later arrived at the market to disperse the gathering and restore calm.
As of the time of this report, it remains unclear whether Khadijah was acting alone or in connection with other accomplices. Law enforcement agencies are expected to conduct further investigations into the matter.
Meanwhile, community leaders have appealed for restraint, urging residents to remain vigilant but avoid mob action.
