Suspected thief arrested with stolen items in Ekiti community

A young man suspected of stealing household items was on Sunday arrested by residents of the Balemo community along the Adebayo area of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

The suspect, identified as Ayeni Adeyemi Emmanuel, was apprehended after he was allegedly found in possession of items suspected to have been stolen from a nearby residence.

In a video obtained by Western Post, the items recovered from him were said to include a music player, a mobile phone, a bag, sandals, and other personal belongings.

Residents disclosed that Emmanuel, who reportedly works as a tiler in Aramoko-Ekiti, was intercepted while being questioned by members of the community.

According to the residents, the suspect, a native of Aramoko-Ekiti, confessed to gaining access to the house through the main entrance before making away with the items.

He was handed over to security operatives for further investigation.

The police are yet to react to the development at the time of filing this report.
