Tax Reform Bills: Governors have achieved their goal, says Governor Sule, by Ibidapo Balogun

Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has declared that state governors opposed to the Tax Reform Bills have satisfied themselves and achieved their objective.
The governors’ goal is to have the controversial bills further examined and discussed.
“This is happening already,” he said.
Governor Sule spoke on Wednesday evening when he featured on “Politics Today,” a discussion programme of Channels Television anchored by Seun Okinbaloye.
While drawing attention to how the House of Representatives is treating the Executive bills, the governor commended the House and particularly Speaker Tajudeen Abass.
“The House is taking in the considerations. They have not even passed it for Second Reading yet and they are taking in the proposed amendments.
“Thank God it’s a concurrent bill. It doesn’t matter if the Senate passes it, the House must concur.”
President Tinubu’s position is also commendable.
“When we (governors)met him during the New Year holidays, he told us all the positions should be considered and that he did not bring the bills against the governors.”
Speaking on the meeting among former Kaduna State governor Nasir el-Rufai, Major Hamza Al-Mustafa and some other opposition members, Sule said he was not scared.
“It’s too early to conclude that they are ganging up against APC. El-Rufai is still in APC. 2027 is still far away.
“What we are going to do in the next two years will determine the direction of things and of the APC. The election is 2027. That’s reason I’m not scared.”
