Teenager stabbed to death by friend in Ondo

Residents of Owatowose area in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State have been thrown into grief after an 18-year-old boy named Amos Timilehin Ariyo was allegedly stabbed to death by his friend.

The tragic Incident occurred at about 4 p.m. on Thursday along a roadside in the community, leaving many residents shocked.

According to eyewitnesses, the teenager was suddenly attacked by his companion and allegedly stabbed in the chest before being left alone at the scene.

Family members disclosed that the victim had recently recovered from a fever and was heading from his mother’s house to her nearby shop when the incident occurred .

Residents noted that both teenagers were known to be close friends and were frequently seen together around the neighborhood.

Confirming the incident, the Spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, said a suspect has been arrested in connection with the killing while noting that investigations are ongoing.

He further revealed that the suspect, Johnson Daniel, has been arrested and transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further questioning.

The spokesperson commiserated with the family of the deceased, promising that justice will take its course while adding that further details would be disclosed as events unfold.
