Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has questioned the rumors linking her to American rapper Future, expressing confusion over claims that she is pregnant for him.
In a recent appearance on the American radio show The Breakfast Club, Tems addressed the rumor, wondering why people would spread such false information, particularly associating her with Future, with whom she has collaborated twice.
“People just run with the most controversial stories. I was thinking, why am I supposedly pregnant for Future? Why Future? That’s the craziest part,” she said.
Tems speculated that the rumor might be tied to Future’s well-known reputation as a ladies’ man and father of multiple children.
“Why not Wizkid? Why not Drake? Why not someone else? If it were Drake, it would still make headlines, but the reason it’s Future is because of his reputation. He has about five kids and is known for being a ladies’ man,” she explained.
During the interview, Tems also shared some of the top rap artists who have influenced her music, mentioning Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Ab-Soul, André 3000, and J. Cole as her major inspirations.
