Terrorists ambush police AIG, kill orderly

Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 12 Bauchi, Audu Madaki has been shot and injured by gunmen suspected to be bandits, killing his orderly in the process.

The bandits, said to be operating in the Lame/Burra forest in Bauchi State, ambushed and attacked the convoy of Madaki on Tuesday.

It was learnt that Madaki’s convoy which was on its way out of Bauchi was attacked by the terrorist group in the Barde Zangidi area in Toro Local Government Area at about 2.30pm.

It was gathered that Madaki was receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in Abuja while security has been beefed up around the Zone.

Another source revealed that armed Police personnel have been drafted to the area to comb the bushes in order to fish out the terrorists.
