The alleged atrocities of ‘Olori Eso’, Lagos’s “notorious hired killer”

Wasiu Akinwande, popularly known as Olori Eso, is reportedly known for causing terror around Mushin and its environs.
Before he was arrested in a coordinated operation by the Lagos State Police Command’s Tactical Squad at his hideout in the Agbado area of Ogun State, police described the 44-year-old as the “most wanted vicious and notorious hired killer”.
Akinwande is accused of killing 10-year-old Aminat Lateef on December 9, 2010, while she was running an errand in the Fadeyi area of the state.

He is also alleged to have attempted to kill one Awawu Ajalara in Idi-Araba, Mushin – Lagos by shooting at her legs with an AK-47 rifle.
A statement on Tuesday by the Lagos State Police Command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, said Akinwande is also facing charges for the alleged murder of Bankole Yusuf and Ramadan Yusuf on July 31, 2024, in the Mushin area of Lagos.
Olori Eso has been arraigned at the Ogba Magistrate Court on an eleven-count charge on Tuesday. He was ordered to be remanded at the Nigerian Correctional service, Kirikiri, Lagos.
