UPDATED: Tinubu appoints Abiola’s daughter as CLTC DG, Omidiran as FCC Chairman

President Bola Tinubu has approved major appointments in key federal institutions, naming Rinsola Abiola, daughter of the late Chief M.K.O. Abiola, as Director-General of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (CLTC) and former House of Representatives member Ayo Hulayat Omidiran as Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC).

The announcements, contained in a statement from Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, were made public on Monday.

Abiola, a strategic communication and government relations specialist, previously served as Senior Special Assistant to the President. Tinubu also appointed Nasir Bala Aminu Ja’oji, a former Special Adviser on Mobilisation to the Governor of Kano State and advocate for women and youth empowerment, as Senior Special Assistant on Citizenship and Leadership.

At the FCC, Omidiran replaces Dr. Muheeba Dankaka, whose tenure was marked by controversy. The President also named Mohammed Musa as FCC Secretary and retained Kayode Oladele, the commissioner from Ogun State and former acting chairman, in his role.

Other renewed appointments include Lawal Ya’u Roni (Jigawa), Abubakar Atiku Bunu (Kebbi), Eludayo Eluyemi (Osun), and Abdulwasiu Kayode Bawalla (Lagos).

The Presidency said the appointments, effective August 11, 2025, aim to strengthen leadership and service delivery in both institutions.
