Tinubu appoints new leadership across the communications, innovation, digital economy sectors

President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of new and returning Chief Executives for various agencies under the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy.
The President also appointed a new Special Adviser to the President on Technology and Digital Economy.
According to a statement issued by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, the appointments are aimed at leveraging on Nigeria’s proven technological and digital economic prowess to reposition the nation’s economy toward greater financial inclusion.
The statement listed the following appointments:
i. Aminu Maida as the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC)
ii. Nkechi Egerton-Idehen as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT)
iii. Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi as the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA)
iv. Dr. Vincent Olatunji as the National Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC)
v. Tola Odeyemi as the Postmaster General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST)
The statement also announced the appointment of Idris Alubankudi as the Special Adviser to the President on Technology and Digital Economy, who will advise the President on matters relating to technology and digital economy.
The statement said that the appointments take immediate effect.
