President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Cape Town, South Africa, to participate in the 11th session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission, a milestone that marks 25 years since the establishment of the framework aimed at strengthening ties between the two nations.

The president is set to lead high-level discussions with his South African counterpart, Cyril Ramaphosa, on a broad spectrum of critical issues. These include trade and investment, political cooperation, migration, defense and security, energy, manufacturing, and the social sector.

In a statement posted on his official X account on Tuesday, President Tinubu emphasized the significance of the session and the collaborative potential of Africa’s two largest economies in driving the continent’s development.

“I look forward to leading discussions at the Bi-National Commission session with President @CyrilRamaphosa on various key areas, including—but not limited to—trade and investment, political consultations, consular and migration matters, defence and security cooperation, banking, energy, manufacturing, and the social sector.

“Nigeria and South Africa must continue working together to ensure shared prosperity for our countries and Africa as a whole,” he wrote.
