President Bola Tinubu has congratulated former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on his 68th birthday, praising his contributions to governance and their long-standing association.
In a statement released on Friday, Tinubu described Osinbajo as a “close ally, friend, and brother,” recalling their collaboration during his tenure as Lagos State governor when Osinbajo served as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.
The President highlighted Osinbajo’s role in the Buhari administration from 2015 to 2023, noting that he worked harmoniously with the former president to implement key governance and infrastructure projects. Tinubu also acknowledged Osinbajo’s leadership when he briefly acted as President while Buhari was on a medical leave in the UK.
Reflecting on their 2023 political contest for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket, Tinubu emphasized that despite the competition, Osinbajo “will always remain my friend and associate.”
He extended warm wishes to Osinbajo, his wife Dolapo, and their family, celebrating his legacy and contributions to Nigeria.
