President Bola Tinubu has congratulated veteran journalist and public relations expert, Oloye Lekan Alabi, on the occasion of his 75th birthday, which falls on Monday, October 27, 2025.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised Oloye Alabi for his outstanding contributions to journalism, public relations, and cultural promotion in Nigeria.

Oloye Alabi, who holds the title of Abese Olubadan of Ibadanland, also serves as the Cultural Ambassador of the National Commission for Museums and Monuments in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

President Tinubu described Alabi as a consummate professional whose career has inspired generations in the media and corporate communications sectors. He noted Alabi’s distinguished journey, which began at the defunct Sketch newspaper before he moved to the Western Nigeria Broadcasting Corporation — later transformed into the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Ibadan.

Alabi also made his mark in corporate communications as Public Relations Manager at Odu’a Investment Company Limited, where he later became Corporate Affairs Manager.

The President particularly lauded Alabi’s rare achievement of serving as Chief Press Secretary to four different governors in the old Oyo State — a feat he said underscored his “professionalism, integrity, hard work, tenacity, and reliability.”

A prolific author, Oloye Alabi has written several books. Recently, a festschrift was launched in Ibadan to commemorate his milestone 75th birthday.

President Tinubu wished the celebrant many more years of good health and renewed strength in the service of humanity.
