Tinubu committed to real change, not cosmetic reforms — Masari

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, has declared that President Bola Tinubu is committed to delivering genuine transformation and sustainable development, particularly in the Northwest region.

Speaking at the APC Northwest Stakeholders Meeting, Masari emphasized that the President is focused on solving Nigeria’s problems with bold, deliberate policies. He cited the removal of fuel subsidy, forex unification, and targeted agricultural investment as key reforms designed to rebuild the nation’s economic foundation.

He noted that the removal of the fuel subsidy was not intended to punish Nigerians but to redirect resources into critical sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and agriculture. According to Masari, the forex market is already experiencing greater stability following Tinubu’s reforms.

Masari described the Northwest as strategic to Nigeria’s political and economic landscape, saying the President is prioritizing the zone through key appointments, agricultural initiatives, and efforts to restore security in collaboration with local leaders.

He dismissed criticisms of the administration, urging party stakeholders to reject false narratives and support Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. “The President means well for this region, and more importantly — he needs our support,” he said.

Masari also highlighted growing momentum within the APC, citing high-profile defections from opposition parties across the country, including in the Northwest. He urged party leaders to strengthen grassroots support and ensure inclusivity within the party.

Calling for unity, he appealed to governors, legislators, traditional rulers, and youth leaders to work together to mobilize and sensitize communities. “Let us put aside rivalries and deliver one message: Tinubu is working for us — now we must work for him,” he said.

Masari concluded by reaffirming his commitment to the growth of the APC in the region and encouraged stakeholders to remain focused and united behind President Tinubu, adding that the Northwest must continue to play a leading role in Nigeria’s development.
