Tinubu condemns killing of Arise News anchor Somtochukwu Maduagwu

President Bola Tinubu has condemned the killing of Arise News Television anchor, Somtochukwu “Sommie” Maduagwu, who was murdered during a robbery at her residence in Katampe, Abuja.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the President described the incident as “cruel and condemnable,” expressing deep sorrow over the loss of the young journalist, whom he described as a promising professional.
Tinubu extended condolences to Maduagwu’s family, colleagues at Arise News, and the wider Nigerian media community, urging them to find strength in this difficult time.
He further directed security and law enforcement agencies to carry out a swift and thorough investigation into the killing and ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to the safety of all Nigerians, the President assured that efforts to tackle crime across the country would be continually strengthened.
