Tinubu congratulates Justice Ariwoola on successful public service

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Justice Olukayode Ariwoola on his retirement as Chief Justice of Nigeria, following a distinguished career in public service.

Justice Ariwoola served as a Justice of the Court of Appeal in the Kaduna, Enugu, and Lagos divisions before his elevation to the Supreme Court in 2011. He was sworn in as Chief Justice of Nigeria in 2022 and contributed to the nation’s judiciary in various capacities throughout his career.

In a statement by his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President (Media and Publicity), President Tinubu commended the eminent jurist for his service to the nation, highlighting his impactful leadership of the judiciary, his contributions to Nigerian jurisprudence, and his efforts in strengthening the legal system.

The President expressed his gratitude to Justice Ariwoola and wished him the very best in his future endeavors.

Justice Ariwoola’s successor will be sworn in by President Tinubu at the State House Council Chambers on August 23, 2024.
