Tinubu congratulates Luong Cuong on election as Vietnam’s President

President Bola Tinubu on Sunday extended his congratulations to Luong Cuong of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on his recent election to the presidency by the country’s parliament.
In a statement, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Information and Strategy, highlighted Cuong’s distinguished career, noting his 40 years of service in the Vietnamese army and his role as a Politburo member since 2021.
Tinubu expressed his support for Cuong’s post-election commitment to positioning Vietnam as “a friend, a trusted partner, and a responsible member of the international community.”
The Nigerian president also emphasized the longstanding relationship between Nigeria and Vietnam, underscoring the steady growth in trade and cultural exchanges between the two nations. He attributed this bond to a shared dedication to global peace and stability.
“The President assures the Vietnamese leader of Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations across diverse sectors, including trade, agriculture, food production, education, as well as cultural and technological exchange. President Tinubu looks forward to President Cuong’s successful leadership in serving both his people and humanity,” the statement concluded.
