Tinubu currently meeting with service chiefs

President Bola Tinubu is currently in a meeting with service chiefs in the country.

The Service Chiefs, who arrived at the presidential Villa in Abuja around 2:30 PM on Tuesday, were led by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa.

Those attending the meeting include the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogala, Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar and the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

Heads of other security agencies are also at the meeting.

The purpose of the meeting is expected to review the current security situation in the country and discuss ways to tackle challenges in that regard.

Over the past several days, there has been a rise in kidnappings for ransom in some sections of the country, particularly in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Armed people stormed into a suburb in the Bwari local council of Abuja on January 5 and took many hostages, including a household with six sisters.

One of the six sisters, Nabeeha, was murdered on Sunday by the abductors, who claimed to have done so as a warning to the family for failing to pay the N60 million ransom.
