Tinubu deserves second term – Ondo APC Chieftain, Momoh

By Boye Oyeyemi –

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Afolabi Momoh, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu’s achievements and ongoing reforms will secure him another term in office in 2027.

Momoh stated this while declaring his senatorial ambition at his hometown in Ekan, Ikare-Akoko, Akoko North-East Local Government Area, where over 100 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defected to the APC.

He said Tinubu’s economic policies were beginning to yield results, noting that the naira was gaining strength while prices of food and essential commodities were gradually dropping.

“The naira is coming back gradually, and if you can see, prices of food items have reduced unlike before. Looking at the infrastructural development, among other vital areas, Tinubu deserves re-election,” he said.

Momoh explained that his decision to run for Senate was driven by the hardship faced by residents of Ondo North, saying the area had been neglected for too long.

“People are really suffering in Ondo North Senatorial District. No employment, nothing like life-changing initiatives and programmes for the constituents. We can’t continue this way,” he said.

A pioneer member of the APC in the state, Chief Ekunusi Momodu, urged residents to rally behind both Tinubu and Momoh, describing the latter as a compassionate and selfless leader whose generosity mirrored that of his late father.

Also speaking, a former chairman of Akoko North-East Local Government, Pastor Arowolo Oluwole, said the declaration was part of efforts to mobilise grassroots support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.

A Special Assistant to the Minister of Interior on Women Affairs, Hon. Atinuke Akadri, commended Momoh’s philanthropic spirit, saying the people of Ondo North had long waited for a leader with genuine concern for their welfare.
