Tinubu embarks on state visit to France at Macron’s invitation

President Bola Tinubu will leave Abuja on Wednesday for a three-day state visit to France at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, it was noted that the visit reflects the importance of strengthening diplomatic ties between Nigeria and France.
President Tinubu will be accompanied by a high-level delegation of government officials, highlighting the importance of this engagement in fostering global partnerships for Nigeria.
The visit aims to deepen political, economic, and cultural relations between the two nations while opening new opportunities for collaboration in critical areas such as agriculture, security, education, health, youth empowerment, innovation, and energy transition.
During their stay in Paris, President Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu will be received at the historic Les Invalides military museum and later at the Élysée Palace by President Macron and French First Lady Brigitte Macron.
The bilateral discussions between the two leaders will focus on creating exchange programs aimed at enhancing youth skills in automation, entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership.
The talks will also cover strategies for economic growth, emphasizing trade, solid minerals, finance, and communication.
President Tinubu is scheduled to attend a session of the France-Nigeria Business Council, an initiative that promotes private-sector-driven economic development between the two countries.
Meanwhile, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu will hold discussions with Brigitte Macron, focusing on the Renewed Hope Initiative, a program that supports women, children, and vulnerable groups in Nigeria.
The visit will conclude with a state dinner hosted by President Macron, after which President Tinubu and his delegation will return to Nigeria.
