Tinubu focused on governance, unfazed by political coalition – Presidency

The Presidency has dismissed the newly formed political coalition against President Bola Tinubu, describing its leaders as “disgruntled and frustrated politicians” driven by self-interest rather than national interest.

Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, stated in a post on X that Tinubu remains focused on governance and fulfilling his promises to Nigerians.

“President Tinubu is focused on governance to build a prosperous country. He is on the way to achieving this. Two months to his midterm, he has many solid achievements to showcase. Intractable problems are being tackled headlong,” Onanuga wrote.

The statement comes amid growing opposition movements challenging the administration ahead of the 2027 general elections. It follows Tinubu’s recent declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State, which led to the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara and other state officials.

In response, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai held a press conference on Thursday, criticizing the declaration as unconstitutional and urging the National Assembly to reject it.

However, the Presidency insists that Tinubu remains undeterred and committed to his reforms.

Onanuga dismissed the coalition as an “amalgam of Tinubu haters” with no real agenda beyond opposing the President.

“Their leaders are sore losers, and they are not politicians acting in the public interest,” he added.
