President Bola Tinubu has congratulated renowned Nigerian media entrepreneur and philanthropist, Mo Abudu, on her inclusion in TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World for 2025.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised Abudu’s outstanding contributions to global media and her unwavering commitment to promoting African stories through an authentic and powerful indigenous lens.
“Your success is not just your triumph, but a source of inspiration and pride for all of us,” the President said.
Describing her as a cultural ambassador and trailblazer, Tinubu commended Abudu’s efforts in nurturing a new generation of creative talent across Africa. He highlighted her visionary leadership behind groundbreaking ventures such as EbonyLife Media, EbonyLife Place, EbonyLife Academy, and the recently launched $50 million Afro Film Fund (AFF), all of which have significantly contributed to the growth of Nigeria’s creative industry.
The President noted that through compelling storytelling, Abudu has captivated global audiences and fostered a renewed sense of pride and unity among Africans. Her continued advocacy, he added, dismantles stereotypes and elevates the image of Nigeria and the African continent on the world stage.
Previously named “Africa’s Most Successful Woman” by Forbes, Abudu’s latest recognition by TIME further cements her status as one of the continent’s leading voices in film, media, and cultural innovation.
