Tinubu has shown capacity in leading Nigeria – Shettima rallies APC members

The Vice President, Kashim Shettima, says President Bola Tinubu has demonstrated strong leadership in navigating Nigeria through economic and social challenges, insisting that his “resolve remains unfazed” despite difficult reforms.
He spoke on Thursday at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja during the submission of President Tinubu’s nomination and expression of interest forms ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Shettima said the administration’s reform programme under the “Renewed Hope Agenda” was already yielding results, arguing that tough policy choices were necessary to stabilise the economy and restore national confidence.
“Through thick and thin, this President has proved his mettle and has shown the world that his capacity and resolve to pull the nation out of the woods remain unfazed,” he said.
He added that Tinubu’s leadership had been tested by economic turbulence but had remained steady, saying: “The storms of the past years have not diminished him; they have made a fine sailor out of him.”
Shettima also urged unity within the ruling party and broader public support for the President’s re-election bid, saying sustained reforms required collective backing.
“It beckons on us all to protect the hope of Nigeria,” he said, calling for support for Tinubu’s 2027 candidacy.
At the same event, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas praised the administration’s economic reforms, saying they had placed the country on a recovery path and created “hope for a brighter future.”
