Tinubu makes triumphal homecoming trip to Lagos tomorrow

Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu will visit Lagos State for the first time on Sunday since winning the party’s ticket at the presidential primaries at Eagle Square, Abuja June 8.
Tinubu who was former Lagos State governor between 1999 and 2007 will be treated to a big welcome party at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.
He will then proceed to pay a courtesy visit to Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, before being ushered home by friends, associates, sympathisers and APC members.
Tinubu clinched the APC presidential ticket after polling 1,271 votes to defeat his closest challenger, former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi who had 316 votes. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo came third with 235 votes.
Since winning the presidential primaries, Tinubu has been meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, the National Working Committee of the APC, his challengers and other leaders in consultation to ensure the party wins the presidential election next year.
