Tinubu mourns Hajiya Rafat Salami, celebrates her legacy in journalism

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) and the International Press Institute (IPI) over the passing of Hajiya Rafat Onyeche Salami, the recently elected Treasurer of IPI.

Hajiya Salami’s death has left a significant void in the journalism community and beyond. She was a dedicated professional who served as Secretary of the NUJ Abuja Council, tirelessly contributing to the growth and development of journalism in Nigeria.

In a statement on Friday, President Tinubu commiserated with the leadership and members of the IPI, staff of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), and the National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ). He acknowledged her steadfast dedication to her profession and her unwavering commitment to the nation.
