Tinubu mourns Sokoto district head’s passing, vows justice for victim

President Bola Tinubu has expressed profound sorrow over the death of Isa Bawa, the head of Gatawa district in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State. Bawa tragically passed away on Tuesday after enduring three weeks in captivity.
In a statement released on Wednesday by the President’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu condemned the brutal attack on the traditional ruler, denouncing it as a “heinous act” that demands an unwavering response.
The President also expressed his deep regret over the tragic circumstances surrounding Bawa’s demise.
“President Tinubu extends his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the Gobir Emirate, and the government of Sokoto State,” Ngelale stated. “He prays for the repose of the soul of the traditional ruler and for comfort to his family during this painful time.”
President Tinubu further reassured the nation that his administration is committed to eradicating security threats. He vowed that such acts of terror would be met with decisive and effective countermeasures, emphasizing that justice will be served.
