Tinubu mourns with ex-Speaker Bankole over mother’s demise

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed his condolences to former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Dimeji Bankole, and his family on the passing of his mother, Alhaja Monsurat Atinuke Bankole.

Alhaja Bankole, who held the esteemed title of Iya Adinni of Egbaland, died on Thursday at the age of 78 after a brief illness.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu joined the Bankole family and Ogun State in mourning the loss of the respected matriarch. He highlighted her lifelong dedication to community development and her unwavering commitment to Islamic principles.

The President lauded Mama Bankole’s legacy of compassion, generosity, and humility, noting the profound impact she made on those around her. He prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul and for Almighty Allah to grant comfort to all who grieve her passing.

Alhaja Bankole’s demise marks the end of a life devoted to service and faith, leaving a lasting imprint on her community.
